You probably have many questions about your family session, or you came across my website while searching for a family photographer. I am here to answer as many frequently asked questions as I can, in hopes that I may answer some of yours.
How long will my family session be?
My family sessions last on average 45 minutes, but will take no longer than an hour. Being a mom of young kids myself, I know that children do not last a very long time. My goal is to make sure everyone has an enjoyable experience and your session runs as smoothly and quickly as possible.
How many images will I receive?
I guarantee you will receive 50-75 images in both color and black and white. I send them to you via email in a downloadable digital gallery and can download the images onto any computer. You may order prints directly from the gallery or you may choose a print lab yourself.
What should I wear?
I ultimately leave that choice up to you and your family. I recommend neutral colored outfits that aren't matchy-matchy (I'm talking everyone in the same colored plaid shirt matchy). Neutrals are timeless colors that will hold up on your walls and not go out of style. My other recommendation is something you will feel comfortable sitting on the ground in and possibly laying down.
What different locations do you offer to for my session?
I have two different outdoor locations that I offer you to choose from once you book with me - the OARDC or Oakhill Park in Wooster. I also provide to option of coming right over to your home and doing an indoor family session.
What is the best time of day for my session?
The hour before sunset is the best time to shoot (Golden hour). It provides the best lighting outdoors and there is the bonus of the sunset towards the end of your shoot. If golden hour is too difficult for you, my other suggestion is 10am because the sun isn't too bright or high yet for the day.
What happens if my family is sick?
Let's face it, kids get sick, and it always seems to happen when you have something important coming up. I will still shoot on your scheduled date if the illness is just a simple cold. If someone in the family has a fever or is vomiting, I will reschedule within 24 hours of the fever breaking or vomiting ending, or will push your session back to the next weekend.
Weather?
I only book 1-2 sessions every weekend. I always suggest keeping your schedule as open as possible for the weekend. If the weather will not permit the session to happen the day you originally scheduled, we can typically fit it in another day on the same weekend when the weather clears up. I will not reschedule for temperatures above 25 degrees. My suggestions is to layer as much as you can, and little ones always look cute in hats.
